This Privacy Policy explains how Bradley Ward Software Development (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our SMS text-messaging program. It applies specifically to the phone numbers and messaging consent of people who opt in to receive text messages from us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors strictly in support of our services (for example, our SMS delivery provider) is permitted. All other use-case categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We never sell your phone number or messaging data.
About this messaging program
We operate a small, low-volume, personal SMS program. The people who receive our messages are family
members and personal acquaintances who have explicitly asked to receive them. Recipients opt in by texting
the keyword JOIN to +1 (678) 831‑6656 and receive an automated confirmation
reply. We use SMS for two transactional purposes only:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA): one-time passcodes sent when a recipient logs in to a personal website we operate.
- Home-automation alerts: notifications generated by our home-automation and monitoring systems (for example, a door left open or a sensor alert).
We do not use SMS for marketing, advertising, or promotional content of any kind.
Information we collect
- Mobile phone number — provided by you when you opt in.
- Consent records — a record of when and how you opted in (for example, the
date you texted
JOIN), kept for compliance. - Message delivery metadata — basic delivery status (e.g., delivered/failed) from our messaging provider, used to operate the service.
We do not collect message content from your replies beyond what is necessary to honor keywords such as STOP and HELP.
How we use your information
- To send the two-factor authentication codes and home-automation alerts you have requested.
- To honor opt-out and help requests (STOP, HELP).
- To maintain records of consent as required by carriers and applicable regulations.
How we share your information
We share information only as strictly necessary to deliver the service:
- SMS delivery provider: we use a third-party messaging provider (Twilio) solely to transmit the messages you have requested. They process your number only to deliver our messages.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or messaging consent with any other third party, and never for marketing or promotional purposes.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your activity and on events in our systems. Authentication codes are sent only when you choose to log in, and alerts are sent only when a relevant event occurs. This is a low-volume program.
Your choices — opt out and help
- Opt out: reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation and will not receive further messages unless you opt in again.
- Help: reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details below.
Data security and retention
We store phone numbers and consent records securely and limit access to what is necessary to operate the program. We retain this information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet record-keeping obligations, and we remove it on request or after opt-out where no obligation requires us to keep it.
Children’s privacy
This messaging program is intended for adults who have personally consented. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
